Government of Canada and Public Sector Skills
This business line offers public servants learning opportunities related to the craft of government and how to work within a public sector context. Indigenous Learning
The learning on Indigenous realities offered at the School allows public servants to understand and explore the ongoing harmful impacts of colonialism on Indigenous Peoples and to see Canada's history through a new lens. The objective is to encourage reconciliation actions through effective working relationships with First Nations, Inuit and Métis in Canada, and help public servants understand the importance of working with Indigenous Peoples to co-develop federal policies and programs that reflect their needs and realities. Executive Learning
The Executive Learning team supports the development of dynamic, high-performing executives to meet the current and future needs of Canadians. To do so, the team designs, develops and delivers the School's Executive Leadership Development Programs and transition to role orientation programs. The mandate of the Innovation and Skills Development Branch is to help public servants acquire the skills, experience, and mindsets they need to pursue public service excellence in an environment of change. The branch activities include demonstration projects, experimentation, and research; leadership and business acumen learning products; and future of work and digital upskilling. The branch also supports various government-wide communities of practice.
Digital Academy
The School's Digital Academy was established in 2018 to help federal public servants gain the knowledge, skills and mindsets they need in the digital age. Learning topics include digital, digital government leadership, data, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, human-centered and service design, the Agile approach, and product management. The Digital Academy supports public servants at all stages of their learning and at all levels of their careers through instructor-led and self-paced learning. The Digital Academy also offers learning events through a virtual exhibition space, micro-learning opportunities, as well as experiential learning through the CSPS Digital Accelerator.

The School provides learning through its Transferable Skills business line to help public servants develop portable knowledge and skills that are applicable inside and outside of government. But this business line is not just about skills; it's also about behaviours, mindsets and connecting. The Policy, Priorities and Partnerships directorate (PPPD) provides a range of policy services that share one common goal: to introduce public servants to the latest thinking, practices, and tools related to public sector management via practical learning experiences, such as policy research and advisory services, technology demonstration projects, and events. The PPPD comprises three main teams: the Surge Team (formally known as Priority Initiatives), the Geopolitics & National Security Learning Program Team (GNS), and the Policy and Strategic Relations Team (PSR). The Surge Team supports the President's Office and senior officials across the Government of Canada by supporting high-priority, time-sensitive and complex policy and innovation initiatives. The GNS Team provides topical learning to develop strategic leadership and critical thinking to public servants about the international and domestic issues affecting Canada's security and prosperity. The PSR Team enhances the School's engagement with academia and external organizations. It is also responsible for the School's internal policies.
The Communications and Engagement directorate is responsible for the delivery of communications advice and services and for the delivery of in-person and virtual learning events in support of the School's curriculum and business lines. Marketing and Communications Services
Offers expertise and guidance to the business lines and other clients through a wide variety of services including marketing, web design, linguistics, and internal communications. The Communications function includes, but is not limited to, the following activities: providing communications support and advice to ministers and senior officials on (non-partisan) government matters, including the preparation of speeches, news releases, briefing notes, presentations, memoranda and correspondence; preparing and implementing communications plans and strategies (including analyses of the internal and external environments) in support of institutional policies, programs, services and initiatives; preparing, producing and disseminating information using all forms of media and graphic arts, including electronic publishing; collaborating with other Government of Canada institutions to promote common communication objectives; integrating all communication activities, including Internet applications, marketing, advertising, public opinion research and media relations to promote consistent and well co-ordinated communications with the public; providing, co-ordinating or contracting media monitoring services; communicating with the public, federal institutions, other government institutions (municipal, provincial, international) and private sector organizations and providing information services through the Internet and other electronic media; planning, co-ordinating, implementing and evaluating advertising, publishing and public awareness programs and campaigns; planning, co-ordinating and promoting the institution's participation in public events, including fairs and exhibitions; cultivating media contacts, coordinating access to the media, authorising and issuing press releases and briefings, and organising media interviews; marketing and supplying publications by the institution in various formats including the production, distribution and evaluation of film, video, audiovisual and multimedia productions via manual or electronic production (e.g. design, layout, typesetting, desktop publishing, printing, binding, etc.); developing and administering guidelines on the consistency in written style, graphic design etc. within the institution's documents; and designing logos, letterhead, stationery, publications etc. that incorporate the corporate image of the institution. Internal services constitute groups of related activities and resources that are administered to support the needs of programs and other corporate obligations of an organization. These groups are management and oversight services, communications services, legal services, human resources management services, financial management services, information management services, information technology services, real property services, materiel services, acquisition services, and travel and other administrative services. Internal services include only those activities and resources that apply across an organization and not to those provided specifically to a program.
Personal Information Banks are descriptions of personal information that are maintained by government institutions about individuals, in support of specific programs and activities. The Privacy Act requires that Personal Information Banks include all personal information that is organized and retrievable by a person's name or by an identifying number, symbol or other particular assigned only to that person. Personal Information Banks must also include personal information that has been or is being used, or is available for use for an administrative purpose.

Integrated Learning Management System (I-LMS)
Description: This database is used to support a centralized portal for online learning courses and to provide individuals with online assessment tools. The database captures individual profile information; course and learning activity participation and results; and some automatically generated course testing and self-assessment results. The personal information collected includes the individual's name, work address, work telephone and fax numbers, e-mail address, department, job title, classification category and level, and preferred language. While accounts may be deactivated after a period of prolonged inactivity, account holders can request the reactivation of their accounts at any time by calling the Client Contact Centre.
Class of Individuals: Employees of governments and public sector institutions (federal, provincial, municipal and international).
Purpose: This information is collected to provide an automated tool for course registration, payment and learning activity utilization data. This tool is provided to enable I-LMS account holders to establish training needs and partake of professional development activities.
Consistent Uses: The personal information is used for I-LMS statistical and evaluative purposes. All disclosures require the individual's prior consent.
Retention and Disposal Standards: The information is retained by I-LMS as long as the I-LMS platform exists. Should the platform be discontinued, the information will not be disposed of until five years have passed.
