Breaking Barriers: Accessibility in the Federal Public Service

Canada's first ever federal accessibility legislation is under development and will be introduced to Parliament in early 2018. This legislation will have an impact across the federal public service and the federally-regulated private sector.

If the legislation and subsequent accessibility standards are passed by Parliament, the Government of Canada would be obligated to meet new accessibility requirements that will have implications for employment processes, how we procure goods and services, and how we engage Canadians at every level. It would also impact our built environment and real property, transportation, and our information and communications technology.

"Breaking Barriers" will highlight the benefits of an inclusive workplace, giving you the opportunity to engage with leaders in accessibility from both inside and outside the federal government.
