Distinguished fellow: Diane Lorenzato

Diane Lorenzato began her career in 1981 at Energy, Mines and Resources Canada in Communication and International Relations. Ms. Lorenzato has held several roles, including Assistant Deputy Commissioner of the Human Resources Branch at the Canada Revenue Agency and Chair of the Human Resources Committee. Throughout her career, Ms. Lorenzato has struck an effective balance between disciplined commitment to business priorities and conscious regard for employee well-being. She was serving as Assistant Commissioner, Human Resources Branch, at the Canada Revenue Agency when she retired from the Public Service of Canada in December 2016.

Her leadership enables her employees to develop their full potential, recognizing the importance of teamwork and collaboration. Ms. Lorenzato's values are reflected in her involvement over many years with the Human Resources Council (HRC). Among other things, the HRC works to identify people management and human resources issues that could have implications across the public service. Ms. Lorenzato served as Chair of the HRC from April 2011 to September 2016, prior to which she had been serving as a member of HRC's Executive Committee since August 2007.
