Narrator: The Government of Canada Workplace Accessibility Passport is a tool to facilitate conversations between employees and managers about the support that employees need on the job. However, it is more than that.

Narrator: It is an opportunity to create a culture that supports individuals and views employees with disabilities as a source of talent

Luna Bengio: As an employee, you own your Passport.

Luna Bengio: Which means that you decide how you want to describe the barriers you face; you decide how do you want to identify the solutions; and then you decide who to share this information with.

Luna Bengio: As a manager, your role is to create an environment that is open; where trust is created;

Luna Bengio: where the employee can feel comfortable coming to you and saying, I need this type of equipment, or this type of measure.

Luna Bengio: The most important question you can ask any member of your team, whether they have a disability or not. And remember, many disabilities are invisible.

Luna Bengio: So, the most important question you can ask a member of your team is, what can I do to support you so you can succeed in your job? And that question, it seems pretty simple,

Luna Bengio but if you ask that question, you are then opening the way for your employee to feel that they can come to you and say, I would need this type of measure, or this type of tool.
